Η εμβληματική κολεκτίβα μουσικής και τέχνης “THE RESIDENTS” θα παρουσιαστεί στη Αθήνα (Θέατρο Παλλάς) στις 10 Απριλίου 2024, στα πλαίσια της Ευρωπαϊκής περιοδείας της παράστασης «GOD IN THREE PERSONS».
Οι THE RESIDENTS σχηματίστηκαν το 1972 στο Σαν Φρανσίσκο και θεωρούνται σύμβολα στον κόσμο της πειραματικής μουσικής εδώ και πενήντα χρόνια. Εκτός από το πρωτοποριακό έργο τους στους τομείς της trance, της world fusion, της electronica, του punk, της industrial και της lounge μουσικής, το συγκρότημα έχει επίσης αναγνωριστεί ως ένας από τους πρωτεργάτες της performance art & music videos, με τα τελευταία να περιλαμβάνονται στη μόνιμη συλλογή του Μουσείου Μοντέρνας Τέχνης της Νέας Υόρκης. Η μακρόχρονη καριέρα τους τους οδήγησε επίσης στον κόσμο της κινηματογραφικής και τηλεοπτικής μουσικής, έχοντας επενδύσει πολλές ταινίες και τηλεοπτικές σειρές, καθώς και αρκετά έργα για το MTV.
Το “God In 3 Persons - Live!” είναι ένα live multimedia performance event που προσαρμόζει το concept album «God In Three Persons» των «The Residents» του 1988. Η παράσταση περιλαμβάνει τον «The Singing Resident» στον πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο του Mr. X, με πρωτότυπο υλικό βίντεο από τον συχνό συνεργάτη των Residents, John Sanborn και τον genderqueer performer Jiz Lee ως ένα ζευγάρι σιαμαίων διδύμων που κάνουν θαύματα.
Η παράσταση παρουσιάστηκε στο Transpalette στην πόλη Bourges της Γαλλίας και συνεχίστηκε με τρεις παραστάσεις στο Μουσείο Μοντέρνας Τέχνης της Νέας Υόρκης στις 24 και 25 Ιανουαρίου 2020. Ακολούθησαν τρεις ακόμη παραστάσεις στο Σαν Φρανσίσκο τον Μάιο και τον Ιούνιο του 2022.

Formed in 1972 in San Francisco, THE RESIDENTS have been regarded as icons in the world of experimental music for fifty years. In addition to their groundbreaking work in the areas of trance, world fusion, electronica, punk, industrial and lounge music, the group has also been credited with being among the originators of performance art and music video, with their videos included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
God In 3 Persons - Live! is a live performance event adapting The Residents' 1988 concept album God In Three Persons. The show features The Singing Resident in the lead role of Mr. X, with original video material by frequent Residents collaborator John Sanborn featuring genderqueer performance artist Jiz Lee as a pair of miracle-working conjoined twins
The show debuted with a one-off performance at the Transpalette in Bourges, France, and continued three shows at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on January 24th and 25th 2020. Three further performances followed in San Francisco in May and June 2022
